Do You Need RV Rental Insurance? (RV Rental)

One of the fastest growing trends in vacationing happens to be the rental of RVs. Lots of families like to go through the process to rent an RV so that they can get out and experience some of the great campgrounds and various areas of the country. When it comes to renting an RV, you should really make sure that you find out all about any of the necessary fees as well as insurance coverage that you should have. You can ask your rental agent about such insurance coverage or you may even want to do a little bit of research on your own to find out the necessity level of different forms of rental insurance.

A good thing to do is get in touch with your current insurance company that covers your driving and automobile policy. You may just find that you are already covered for RV rental insurance through your regular provider. If not, then you can sometimes even look into having an extension placed on top of your normal coverage to include such rental insurance for RVs. Some customers may find this addition to their regular insurance coverage to be a nuisance. In such instances, they may just end up going with the insurance that is offered through the rental agency.

If you are looking for reasons to purchase RV renters insurance, you should know that it is an excellent way to cover you against any damages that can occur while you are renting the vehicle. Also, many of the insurances will cover any damage that can happen to other properties or vehicles by your rented RV. The chances may be very good that you are not used to driving an RV if you are going through the process of renting one. Because of your unfamiliarity with the function and maneuverability of an RV, you are sure to see just why rental insurance can come in so handy.

One thing that you really should not worry about is the actual cost of the rental insurance itself. For most average sized RV rentals, the price of the insurance coverage will usually be around $20 or $25. Just think about how little an amount this will really seem if by some chance you end up getting into some sort of accident with thousands of dollars worth of damages and expenses.

When you are looking to get full coverage for an RV rental, you should know ahead of time just what you are paying for. Usually full RV rental coverage will be liability, uninsured motorist, collision and comprehensive. The choice of using the rental agency for the coverage or your own insurance provider is really all just a matter of preference when you are renting your RV for your dream family vacation.

Customer Review: 16 Great Western Vacations would be a better title.
To date I have used only a couple of the “trips” outlined by the author. Her data is definitely shy of specific rv information…just the skimpy basics. However, the “travelogue” sections are quite good on their own merits. Exclusive of the rv, we found much of her other information quite helpful and interesting. I hope the author revises the book and adds a healthy dose of really meaningful rv info.
Customer Review: Not RV Related
The title of this book is deceptive. The author’s major RV experience was in driving an 18′ motorhome and she definately feels that anything larger is more like staying at home than camping. If you are interested in RV related material, this book is not for you. If you want a so so travelogue with minimal information about where to park your RV, you might like the book. The author obviously has no experience in using RVs in urban environments–something than most owners of large RVs do on a routine basis. I think the title is highly misleading.

Doing Your Pre-Trip Inspection on Your Rental RV (RV Rental)

Once you have rented your RV for your scheduled vacation, you are probably going to be very excited and raring to go. Well, of course this can be a very exciting time, especially when you have been waiting for such a vacation for quite some time. However, it is very important that you do not forget to do a few things before you embark. This means doing a little bit of a pre-trip inspection of your rental RV to make sure that everything is just where it needs to be. Such an inspection may seem like a daunting task, but it can mean a world of difference between a good trip and an amazing trip.

Certainly, you are going to want to make absolutely sure that you and your family are going to have a very safe trip wherever you will be traveling to. One of the things that you may want to think about doing is taking a look at all of the smoke alarms that are placed within your rental RV. This not only means checking to see if they are in proper working order, but you may want to try and check the actual battery life in them. As you have heard before, it is always better to be safe than sorry, which goes for both your home and your rental RV.

When it comes to the engine, you may want to take a look at all of the different hoses and belts to make sure that they are not worn at all. It is important that if you happen to notice any such problems with the hoses, especially with the radiator, that you have your RV rental company fix them right away before you leave.

Walk around your rental RV and go ahead and do a little bit of an exterior inspection. A great idea is to take a look at all of the tires to be sure that the tread is sufficient. You can also check out all of your headlights, brake lights and turn signals to make sure that there are not any bulbs that need to be replaced. Such a bulb replacement can be very simple to do by yourself, or you can also have the RV rental agency fix it for you.

Because you may not be all that familiar with your rental RV, you can always go through a little bit of a checklist with the instruction manual. This can help you remind yourself of just how the rental RV works and what all of the major components are. There also may even be a hard copy of a pre-trip inspection checklist in the manual itself that you can take a look at. You will be amazed at just how helpful such a process can be when you are getting ready to hit the road in your rental RV.

No Campsite in Sight to Park Your Rental RV? (RV Rental)

When you are getting ready to hit the road in your rental RV, you will probably already have a campsite all lined up just waiting for your arrival. After all, you really want everything to be completely perfect, and having an ending destination is a wonderful feeling after driving all day long in your rental RV. However, what exactly should you do if you find that you really need to stop to get some sleep and you cannot seem to find a campground anywhere around you? If there is no truck stop in sight either, there is another alternative that you can use for parking your rental RV.

Well, for years and years a number of RVers have been utilizing businesses and their parking lots for such a short stay. Yes, this may sound a little bit strange, however it is quite a common occurrence all over the country. Basically, what you are looking for are large parking lots, preferably those that are well lit. Depending on the size of your rental RV, you are probably going to want a parking lot that has plenty of pull-through parking spots. This will make it much easier for you to park your rental RV for obvious reasons. Walmart has long made their parking lots a safe haven for RVers.

Certainly, when you are using such parking lots at department stores and the like, you will want to take a look around to make sure that there are not any signs posted that state that overnight parking is not allowed. However, even though you do not notice any signs, you really should not be surprised if you have a knock on the door of your rental RV telling you that you have to move along.

For years and years, a good number of grocery stores and department stores have been allowing RVers to park in their parking lots. After all, if you think about it, anyone staying in their parking lot is very likely to browse through their establishment and do a little bit of shopping. This can end up being a good thing for both the business and your family in your rental RV.

One thing that is very important to remember is that you should always use common sense and courtesy when you are staying in such parking lots. Although you may be staying for a few hours, you should never “set up camp” in the parking lot by bringing out some of your camping accessories. It is not hard to figure out that you could be asked to leave if you begin to set up your lawn chairs and your awning right in the middle of a parking lot.

In addition to that, be sure that you treat the parking area with complete and total respect. If you happen to have trash, be sure that you dispose of it properly. Taking care of common sense pointers can make a world of difference when you are looking to park your rental RV in a location outside of a campground.
